Purpose of ISRO’s Chandrayaan 3 Launch

The main goal of the Chandrayaan 3 mission is to gather data from the previously unexplored southern region of the Moon, which no other country has reached thus far. If this mission is accomplished, India will be recognized as the first nation to successfully land on the southern surface of the Moon.

In 2018, ISRO launched Chandrayaan 2, which successfully entered the Moon’s orbit but unfortunately failed to land and crashed instead. ISRO is currently making preparations for the launch of Chandrayaan 3, prioritizing safety.

The primary objective of this mission is to successfully land on the Moon’s surface and gather valuable data through the Chandrayaan 3 Rover, which will then be transmitted back to Earth. In the event of a successful mission, India will attain the distinction of being the first country to send a rocket to the southern region of the Moon.

Budget for ISRO’s Chandrayaan 3 mission

Readers are highly intrigued by the budget of Chandrayaan 3. We can confirm that ISRO has allocated a staggering amount of 600 crores for the creation of this mission. This endeavor poses significant challenges for the scientists involved, as their undivided attention is focused on its success. The ultimate goal is to flawlessly launch Chandrayaan 3 into lunar orbit.

Chandrayaan 2 was developed with a budget of 960 crores, while Chandrayaan 3 is being created with a lower budget. ISRO, with its skilled team, has successfully managed to achieve this feat. The launch of Chandrayaan 3 will take place on the 6th orbital flight of the Launch Vehicle Mark III (LMV3).

ISRO has acknowledged that undertaking a mission in the orbit of another planet incurs significant costs. However, we have made efforts to execute this mission using advanced technology and a reduced budget, thereby improving the prospects of success for this project.

The launch vehicle and weight of ISRO’s Chandrayaan 3 mission.

For astrology enthusiasts, it is crucial and thrilling to be familiar with the launch vehicle and weight of Chandrayaan 3. ISRO has recently disclosed information regarding the vehicle, revealing that it will weigh 3900 kg when launched by LMV3. Scientists emphasize the importance of a well-executed mission for its success. In a strategic partnership, ISRO has joined forces with Japan to select the vehicle that ensures a safe landing on the lunar surface during the Chandrayaan 3 launch.

The LMC3 vehicle is made up of a Rover and an Orbiter. It is noteworthy that ISRO has set the launch date for Chandrayaan 3, which will take place on 12th July 2024. All necessary preparations are currently underway for the successful launch of Chandrayaan 3, and they are expected to be completed soon. To ensure the avoidance of any accidents, scientists are aiming to keep the weight of this latest project within reasonable limits.

The objectives of Chandrayaan-3 are:

  1. Safe and Soft Landing
  2. Rover Roving on Moon Surface
  3. In-situ Scientific Experiments.

Chandrayaan-3 has been approved with a budget of Rs. 250 Crores (excluding the cost of the launch vehicle). It is estimated that it will take approximately 33 days, starting from its launch date on July 14th, 2024, to reach the moon’s orbit.

India would become the fourth country in the world to achieve a significant technological capability if the soft landing on the Moon is successful. This soft landing is expected to pave the way for future landing missions and advancements in planetary exploration.

The planned process for the soft landing of Chandrayaan-2 was intended to be done in stages. However, due to unforeseen fluctuations in the Lander Module’s performance, it ultimately experienced higher velocities upon touchdown. These velocities exceeded the intended capacity of the Lander’s legs, resulting in a rough landing.

The Lander of Chandrayaan-3 has been enhanced to increase its durability. The improvements include handling more dispersion, enhancing sensors, software, and propulsion systems, implementing full level redundancies, as well as conducting comprehensive simulations and additional tests. All these measures are aimed at ensuring a higher level of ruggedness in the lander.

Chandrayaan-3 has been designed with enhanced capabilities to independently manage a wide range of dispersion, aiming to achieve a soft and secure landing, in contrast to Chandrayaan-2.

The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh provided this information in a written response in the Rajya Sabha today. Visit orangebybk.com Homepage To Get the Latest Updates
